P is for:

Therapy for PTSD focuses on processing trauma at the client’s own pace and developing healthier coping mechanisms. Common approaches include reframing negative thoughts and reduce distressing memories. Therapy also incorporates emotional regulation, mindfulness, and grounding techniques to manage overwhelming emotions. Building trust in the therapeutic relationship and fostering a sense of safety are key to recovery. The ultimate goal is to help individuals regain control, reduce trauma’s impact, and improve overall well-being.

With an emphasis on acceptance, I encourage clients to accept their thoughts and feelings without judgment while focusing on values-driven action. We work together to explore unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs, and clients are guided to develop a more flexible, compassionate perspective towards themselves, learning to engage with their emotions in a way that reduces their impact, allowing them to move towards living an authentic, meaningful and empowering life full of self-compassion and healthy boundaries. The aim is to help clients build a more positive, authentic self-concept aligned with their true values.

What ever issue that brings you to my door, you will be treated with respect, fairness and compassion.
